The 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 9 Black Ink gives the brand’s three-row electric SUV a darker appearance and a cabin focused on six-passenger comfort. Its lengthy official name—AWD Performance Calligraphy Black Ink—also tells you where it sits: this is a luxury-focused version of the powerful dual-motor model.
Hyundai announced the edition in April, highlighting Georgia assembly, black exterior detailing and equipment aimed at passengers in all three rows. Here is what the announcement confirms, and what buyers still need to check before comparing prices.
What changes on the 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 9 Black Ink?

Abyss Black Pearl paint sets the tone, with black chrome on the front skid plate and rear garnish. Gloss-black roof rails, dark window moldings, a black front Hyundai emblem and exclusive black 21-inch Turbine Design wheels carry the treatment around the SUV.
Inside, Hyundai adds a black color scheme, a specific upholstery pattern, black aluminum trim and a black steering wheel. The changes concentrate on appearance and equipment. Buyers should not mistake the Black Ink name for a completely new vehicle platform or a separate off-road model.
Powertrain, battery and charging basics

The Black Ink edition uses dual electric motors and all-wheel drive, with 422 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. Its battery capacity is 110.3 kWh, and the electrical architecture operates at 800 volts.
Hyundai quotes approximately 24 minutes for a 10%–80% charge under optimal conditions using a suitable 350-kW DC charger. That describes the charging equipment used for the estimate; it does not establish a 350-kW peak charging rate for the vehicle. Actual charging time varies with battery temperature, starting charge and charger performance.
A native North American Charging Standard port provides access to compatible charging stations. The Black Ink announcement does not give a model-specific EPA range figure, so shoppers should check the window sticker rather than assume another Ioniq 9 trim’s rating applies.
Three rows, six seats and comfort equipment

This version has a standard six-passenger layout. First- and second-row Relaxation Seats offer power recline and ventilation, while even third-row passengers get heated seats. An eco-suede headliner and patterned aluminum trim complete the cabin treatment.
Technology includes a 10-inch head-up display, 14-speaker Bose audio, a digital rearview mirror and Remote Smart Parking Assist 2. Hyundai also lists a panoramic roof, integrated front and rear dash cameras, vehicle-to-load functionality and USB-C ports capable of up to 100 watts throughout the three rows.
For a family comparing three-row SUVs, the seating configuration is an important starting point: this Black Ink version accommodates six, not seven. Extra comfort in the first two rows comes with that capacity trade-off.
What to know about timing and price

Hyundai’s April announcement said the Georgia-built Black Ink model was expected at dealers during summer 2026. That was the announced timetable, not a guarantee of local inventory.
The release did not provide a Black Ink MSRP. Compare the actual 2027 sticker price, destination charge and available inventory before deciding whether its styling and equipment justify the premium. A 2026 Ioniq 9 price is not a substitute for a confirmed 2027 Black Ink price.
For buyers who want an electric family SUV with six seats and substantial comfort equipment, the Black Ink is a distinct option to investigate. Its strongest argument is the passenger experience and appearance package, rather than an announced improvement in driving range.
