The 2027 Nissan Murano adds a Dark Armor grade, a Snow Mode for every trim and a simpler three-model lineup. Including the $1,575 destination charge, the two-row SUV now starts at $45,565, while Dark Armor starts at $48,565.

The updates focus on equipment and appearance. Buyers still get a turbocharged four-cylinder, a conventional nine-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive, so choosing a trim is largely a question of cabin features, technology and styling.

Dark Armor brings the blacked-out treatment

The new Dark Armor grade sits between SL and Platinum. It wears gloss-black 21-inch wheels, black exterior badges, special front and rear bumpers, and dark window and side molding. Dark Armor badges on the front doors identify it without changing the Murano’s basic shape.

Nissan offers six exterior color combinations for Dark Armor, including Gun Metallic, Super Black, Scarlet Ember and Everest White, plus two-tone choices with a black roof. Inside, the grade is limited to Graphite upholstery. Shoppers who want another interior color should compare the other trims.

The other across-the-range change is Snow Mode. Nissan lists it as a new drive option for all 2027 Murano grades. That is separate from the appearance treatment, so buyers do not have to purchase Dark Armor to get it.

Three trims and delivered prices

Nissan has streamlined the lineup to SL, Dark Armor and Platinum. The published MSRPs are $43,990 for SL, $46,990 for Dark Armor and $49,790 for Platinum. Adding destination puts them at $45,565, $48,565 and $51,365, respectively, before options, taxes and other fees.

Dark Armor therefore costs $3,000 more than SL, while Platinum is another $2,800 above Dark Armor. Those gaps are useful when comparing the styling package with the higher trim’s comfort equipment. A shopper interested mainly in AWD does not need to move up the range: every grade includes it.

Nissan said the 2027 Murano was on sale when it announced pricing in August. Actual transaction prices depend on the dealer, options and any applicable offers.

The engine, transmission and everyday capability

The 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder produces 241 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Its variable-compression design is paired with a nine-speed automatic, paddle shifters and standard Intelligent AWD. Nissan specifies regular unleaded gasoline.

EPA estimates are 21 mpg city, 27 highway and 23 combined. Those figures apply to the AWD Murano, which is the only drivetrain listed in the 2027 U.S. specifications. Nissan rates towing at 1,500 pounds when properly equipped, so this is a light-trailer proposition rather than a substitute for a larger tow vehicle.

Dark Armor does not add engine output. Its appeal is the equipment and exterior treatment, with the same basic powertrain as SL and Platinum.

Two rows, useful cargo room and optional hands-free driving

Murano seats five and measures 192.9 inches long, 78 inches wide and 67.9 inches tall, with a 111.2-inch wheelbase. Cargo space is 32.9 cubic feet behind the rear seats or 63.5 with them folded. There is no third row to weigh against luggage room.

Dual 12.3-inch displays anchor the dashboard. Google built-in is offered on Dark Armor and Platinum, and the wider equipment list includes available heated, ventilated and massaging front seats. Availability depends on grade and package, so the entry price does not include every comfort feature shown in Nissan’s photos.

Standard ProPILOT Assist is a hands-on driver assistance system. The optional ProPILOT Assist 2.1, offered through the Platinum Technology Package, allows hands-off operation on eligible freeway stretches while the driver remains attentive and ready to take over. It requires an activated NissanConnect Services subscription and is not autonomous driving.

The official 2027 Murano press kit details the trim equipment and specifications. For buyers, the key comparison is straightforward: SL gets the core AWD powertrain, Dark Armor adds its distinctive look, and Platinum opens the door to the most advanced optional assistance technology.
