The 2027 Chevrolet Traverse High Country will arrive with a sharper look, a richer cabin and new camera-based technology as Chevrolet begins updating the premium trim across its lineup.
In its August announcement, Chevrolet scheduled production to begin in September at Lansing Delta Township Assembly. The refreshed Traverse will be the first model to wear the evolved High Country treatment, followed by the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500.
What changes on the 2027 Traverse High Country?
The exterior changes are subtle but deliberate. A redesigned High Country badge appears on the front doors and liftgate, while the grille and headlamp accents gain a new Tritan Satin finish. New 22-inch aluminum wheels combine high-gloss black pockets with machined faces.
Inside, Chevrolet is moving the Traverse High Country away from a traditional luxury look and toward a warmer, more contemporary design. Jet Black seats use Natural Tan accents, the seatbelts receive Natural Tan edging and the first-row headrests are debossed. Real wood trim completes the update.
New cameras look inside and record outside
All 2027 Traverse models will offer a new interior camera, and it will be standard on High Country and RS. A Cabin Glance function displays a live view of the second and third rows on the center screen, giving drivers a quicker way to check on children, pets or other passengers.
Chevrolet is also adding Surround Vision Recorder and Security Recording. The first can capture and save video from the vehicle’s exterior cameras while the Traverse is running. The second can begin recording when the alarm is triggered. Both features require a USB drive to store footage.
The mechanical package carries over
Chevrolet did not announce a powertrain change. The Traverse continues with a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The three-row SUV also retains up to 98 cubic feet of maximum cargo space with the second- and third-row seats folded. A 17.7-inch center touchscreen remains part of the package, and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance will continue to be available.
Why Chevrolet is updating High Country
Chevrolet describes High Country as its top expression of upscale design for SUVs and trucks. Phil Zak, the brand’s global executive exterior design director, said the revised treatment is intended to look “more premium, modern, athletic and aspirational” while preserving the capability buyers expect from Chevrolet.
The timing follows a strong run for the Traverse. Chevrolet says sales increased 20% in the second quarter of 2026, contributing to the nameplate’s best first half on record after a record sales year in 2025.
Chevrolet’s August announcement did not include pricing, complete trim-by-trim equipment details or a specific on-sale date.
