The 2027 Subaru Crosstrek keeps its $26,995 starting MSRP, but shoppers looking for a Sport will find an important change: that trim is now hybrid-only. Subaru has dropped the gas-only Sport, leaving six versions of its small all-wheel-drive SUV.

The update also brings a standard moonroof to Limited Hybrid and changes the paint choices. Here is what matters when comparing the 2027 lineup Subaru announced. Photos show the 2026 model.

Base starts at $26,995, Premium at $27,995, Limited at $32,995 and Wilderness at $33,795. Sport Hybrid starts at $33,995, with Limited Hybrid topping the lineup at $35,995. Those figures exclude destination, options, taxes and registration.

The $1,475 destination charge in most states puts the Base at $28,470 before taxes and options. Delivery charges vary in several states, and Alaska is $1,625. A flat starting MSRP therefore should not be read as a promise that every trim or out-the-door price stays unchanged.

Sport shoppers can no longer choose the conventional gas powertrain. New paint choices include Ignition Red and Tidepool Teal Pearl, while Sapphire Blue Pearl is exclusive to the hybrids. Some colors cost extra.

Gas and hybrid powertrains keep standard AWD

Gas models use a 2.5-liter horizontally opposed four-cylinder rated at 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with a continuously variable transmission. Subaru’s all-wheel-drive system remains standard. The 2.5-liter engine was already standard for 2026; it is not a new 2027 upgrade.

Sport Hybrid and Limited Hybrid pair a 2.5-liter engine with electric motors for 194 combined horsepower. These are conventional hybrids, so owners do not need to plug them in. Buyers choosing between the two powertrains should compare the higher hybrid purchase price against their own driving habits and fuel costs.

Size, cargo space and Wilderness capability

The Crosstrek seats five and offers up to 19.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, with more than 50 cubic feet available when the rear seatbacks are folded. It remains a small crossover rather than a three-row family hauler.

Most versions have 8.7 inches of ground clearance. Wilderness increases that to 9.3 inches and adds all-terrain tires on 17-inch wheels, water-resistant StarTex upholstery and a transmission oil cooler. Its maximum tow rating is 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. That capability belongs to Wilderness and should not be applied to every Crosstrek.

Screens, safety features and hybrid equipment

Base uses dual 7-inch displays with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium and higher trims get the 11.6-inch touchscreen and wireless smartphone integration. Sport Hybrid also includes navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, heated front seats, a wireless phone charger and a moonroof.

Limited Hybrid now includes a moonroof as standard equipment. EyeSight driver-assistance technology is standard across the lineup, but shoppers should still check individual trim equipment: features such as blind-spot detection are not standard on every version.

Subaru announced fall 2026 availability for the 2027 Crosstrek. Gas models are assembled in Indiana, while hybrid production is in Japan. For shoppers, the biggest decision remains straightforward: the lower-priced gas versions, the hybrid Sport and Limited, or the more trail-focused Wilderness.
