Identification of any warning that can occur:

None stated.

Chronology

February 26, 2026 – Subaru received a technical report where the power moonroof glass panel had become detached from the vehicle. Subaru opened an investigation.

February 26, 2026 – The supplier inspected all assemblies under their control and found no issues with the bonding.

March 1, 2026 – The supplier’s investigation indicated that power moonroof assemblies with improper bonding between the glass and the glass frame may have been manufactured.

March through end-April 2026 – Subaru and the supplier used the supplier’s production records, including primer application volume logs, to determine the affected scope. This evaluation also determined the estimated minimum amount of primer that must be applied to ensure appropriate adhesion. During this period, an appropriate field inspection method was developed and evaluated, specifically confirming that the glass panel would not detach if primer application was limited to the areas accessible for visible inspection.

May 21, 2026 – Out of an abundance of caution, Subaru decided to conduct a voluntary safety recall. Subaru is only aware of 3 technical reports received in the U.S. market between February 26, 2026 and March 25, 2026. Subaru is not aware of any crashes or injuries resulting from this condition.
