The 2027 Kia Niro returns with a redesigned nose, a more modern dashboard and a narrower powertrain mission: the U.S. lineup is now hybrid-only. Pricing starts at $31,385 including destination, and a new S trim joins the range.
This is a refresh of Kia’s small crossover, with familiar hybrid hardware underneath the new styling. The official 2027 Niro overview and pricing announcement show where buyers get the biggest changes.
2027 Kia Niro prices include a new S trim

Kia lists five configurations, all with front-wheel drive. The prices below include the $1,495 destination charge but exclude taxes, registration, options and dealer charges.
- LX: $31,385.
- S: $32,085.
- EX: $32,885.
- SX: $36,935.
- SX Touring: $40,485.
The new S sits $700 above LX and $800 below EX. The spread from LX to SX Touring is $9,100, so shoppers should compare equipment carefully rather than assuming all of the new technology is included in the starting price.
Outside, revised front and rear fascias bring Kia’s Star Map lighting signature. The liftgate, taillamps and rear bumper change, and body-colored C-pillars give the profile a more uniform appearance. Ivory Silver and Sunset Beige join the paint choices.
Hybrid power without a charging cable

The Niro continues with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, an electric motor and a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Combined output is 139 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It is a conventional hybrid that refuels with gasoline, not a plug-in hybrid or battery-electric vehicle.
Front-wheel drive is the only configuration in the U.S. pricing list. In its 2027 specification table, Kia lists LX, S and EX at 53 mpg city, 46 highway and 50 combined. Buyers should check the specific trim’s window sticker rather than applying those figures to the entire range.
Kia also says it revised suspension tuning, ride comfort and cabin quietness. Those are manufacturer claims for now; we have not driven this updated Niro to judge the changes.
Small footprint, usable passenger and cargo space

At 174 inches long and 71.9 inches wide, the Niro remains a compact choice for parking and daily errands. Its wheelbase measures 107.1 inches, while ground clearance is 6.3 inches. The rear seat provides a listed 39.8 inches of legroom.
Kia publishes cargo capacity as 619 liters behind the rear seat and 1,740 liters with it folded. Converted, that is approximately 21.9 and 61.4 cubic feet, respectively. Those figures give shoppers a useful starting point, although trying your own stroller, luggage or other bulky gear remains the best fit check.
Bigger standard screen, more available assistance

Every 2027 Niro gets a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 4-inch instrument display is standard; a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is available. Kia’s available ccNC system adds updated controls and over-the-air update capability.
Standard assistance includes blind-spot collision warning, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance and Smart Cruise Control 2. The forward collision-avoidance system adds functions for junction turns, cyclists and directly approaching traffic. Lane Following Assist 2 uses a hands-on detection sensor to monitor steering-wheel engagement.
SX Touring adds the newly available surround-view camera and blind-spot video display. Highway Driving Assist 2 is also newly available, but remains driver assistance that requires attention and supervision. For buyers who simply want a hybrid commuter, the standard screen and wireless phone connection may matter more than stretching to the most expensive trim.
