The 2027 Nissan Kicks gets its first Rock Creek package, bringing standard all-wheel drive, an extra drive mode and a more outdoorsy look to Nissan’s smallest SUV. Its $28,840 MSRP becomes $30,385 with the $1,545 destination charge.

That makes the choice more interesting than simply buying the cheapest Kicks with AWD. The new package costs $2,350 more than an SV AWD, so buyers should look closely at the equipment it adds—and the cargo space AWD gives up.

What the Rock Creek package adds

Rock Creek is a package for the Kicks SV AWD. It brings distinctive 17-inch wheels, amber daytime running lights and accent lighting, a different upper grille and gloss-black exterior trim. The roof rack adds a place for bulky gear, with a stated load limit of 165 pounds when properly loaded.

The functional additions are an Off-Road drive mode and Hill Descent Control. Nissan says the drive mode allows additional wheel slip on surfaces such as gravel, sand and snow; hill descent helps manage speed on downhill sections. Ground clearance is 8.4 inches, the same basic figure Nissan lists for the Kicks range.

Those changes give shoppers more tools for loose surfaces, but there is no power increase. The value question is whether the extra equipment suits your trips, rather than whether the Rock Creek badge makes this a different class of SUV.

Engine, AWD and fuel economy

Every 2027 Kicks uses a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder rated at 141 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. It runs on regular gasoline and pairs with Nissan’s Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Rock Creek includes AWD; other Kicks grades also offer front-wheel drive.

Nissan lists EPA estimates of 27 mpg city, 34 highway and 30 combined for AWD models. Front-wheel-drive versions are rated at 28 city, 35 highway and 31 combined. The AWD penalty is therefore modest on the combined rating, although actual mileage will depend on conditions and driving.

For shoppers comparing vehicles by engine specifications, this package is about traction and equipment. It keeps the same output as the less expensive Kicks.

Interior equipment and the cargo tradeoff

The five-seat Kicks measures 171.9 inches long and 70.9 inches wide. The AWD model’s wheelbase is 104.9 inches, and its cargo ratings are 23.9 cubic feet behind the rear seat and 50.1 with that seat folded.

That is less than the front-wheel-drive SV and SR, which offer 29.2 and 58.5 cubic feet, respectively. Buyers choosing Rock Creek for outdoor equipment should check how their usual luggage fits before assuming AWD comes without a packaging tradeoff.

Inside, Rock Creek adds distinctive upholstery with contrast stitching, heated front seats and an HD surround-view camera system. The 12.3-inch touchscreen includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and SV equipment includes a wireless phone charger. These are useful everyday additions even when the vehicle never leaves pavement.

Where the price lands in the Kicks lineup

Including destination, the 2027 Kicks S starts at $24,335 with front-wheel drive or $25,835 with AWD. The SV starts at $26,035 with front-wheel drive and $28,035 with AWD. An SR is $28,535 with front-wheel drive or $30,335 with AWD, before options, taxes and other fees.

At $30,385 delivered, the Rock Creek package lands just $50 above an SR AWD. That makes it worth comparing the two equipment lists rather than treating Rock Creek as the automatic next step up. The Rock Creek emphasizes its trail-oriented controls, roof rack and styling; the SR follows a different equipment path.

For shoppers who want the lowest AWD entry price, the S remains substantially cheaper. For those who would use the added camera, heated seats and loose-surface features, Rock Creek puts those items into one package. Nissan’s official 2027 Kicks press kit provides the full pricing and specification breakdown.
