The 2027 Lexus TZ gives families a new way to get three rows of Lexus seating without a gasoline engine. The brand’s first three-row electric SUV starts at $64,050 including delivery, with six seats and all-wheel drive standard.
The important buying decision is the battery. Moving from Premium to Premium Touring costs $8,000 and brings a larger pack with a longer advertised range. Luxury adds more comfort equipment, but its range estimate is lower than Premium Touring’s.
Three trims, with an $8,000 step to the larger battery
Lexus lists the TZ 450e Premium AWD at $64,050, Premium Touring AWD at $72,050 and Luxury AWD at $80,550. Those figures include the $1,550 delivery, processing and handling charge; options and taxes are extra, and dealer prices can vary.
The launch announcement calls for sales to begin in late 2026. Lexus’ current model page specifies early 2027 arrival for Premium Touring and Luxury, so buyers looking for the larger battery should pay attention to trim availability rather than assuming every version arrives together.
Standard AWD and 308 horsepower, with range varying by trim
All three trims use two electric motors and Lexus’ DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system, with 308 total system horsepower. Premium has a 76.96-kWh battery. Premium Touring and Luxury use a 95.82-kWh battery.
Lexus currently advertises estimated ranges of 253 miles for Premium, 315 miles for Premium Touring and 279 miles for Luxury. Its model overview labels these manufacturer estimates; actual driving distance will depend on weather, speed, load and other conditions. The larger battery does not give Luxury the same range as Premium Touring.
A built-in NACS charging port is standard. Lexus also lists an 11-kW onboard AC charger, with a 19-kW option arriving in early 2027. Home charging speed depends on the electrical installation and charging equipment as well as the vehicle.
For buyers who want more acceleration, Lexus says a dealer-installed Performance Upgrade arriving in 2027 will raise Luxury output to 402 horsepower. That is an available upgrade, not the standard rating.
Six seats and a cabin built around second-row comfort
The TZ uses second-row captain’s chairs rather than a three-person bench. Available heated and ventilated second-row seats with power ottomans give Luxury buyers a more elaborate setup, while a removable rear console can open a walkthrough path toward the third row.
Standard equipment includes a panoramic roof with a power sunshade, a 14-inch multimedia touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Lexus Safety System+ 4.0 is also standard, including automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control. Connected navigation and some other services require an active trial or subscription.
Premium Touring and Luxury add rear-wheel steering. Lexus says the system can turn the rear wheels by up to four degrees to aid maneuverability and stability.
Size, cargo space and towing basics
The 2027 Lexus TZ measures 200.8 inches long and 67 inches tall, with a 120-inch wheelbase. This is a substantial family SUV, so garage fit and third-row access deserve an in-person check.
Lexus lists 13.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row, 47 cubic feet behind the second row and 91.5 cubic feet behind the front seats. Power-folding second- and third-row seats help switch from passenger duty to hauling larger items.
With the applicable Convenience Package tow preparation, Lexus lists towing capacity at 2,400 pounds for Premium and 3,500 pounds for Premium Touring and Luxury. Buyers planning to tow should verify the equipment and limits of the exact vehicle.
For families comparing trims, Premium Touring offers the longest advertised range. Luxury’s case rests on its extra comfort equipment. The base Premium keeps the purchase price lower while retaining six seats, standard AWD and the same standard horsepower.
