The 2027 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy Black Ink gives the three-row SUV a darker look for $500 more than the regular Hybrid Calligraphy. It starts at $59,280 with front-wheel drive or $61,280 with all-wheel drive, including Hyundai’s $1,600 destination charge and before taxes or other fees.
That makes Black Ink an appearance-focused choice near the top of the Palisade range. Buyers considering it should compare the finishes and equipment with Calligraphy rather than expecting a different engine.
What changes with the Black Ink edition?

Hyundai’s July 7 announcement identifies black badges, grille accents, roof rails, window surrounds and wheels, along with darker bumper and lower-body trim. The treatment extends to the cabin, where black finishes replace silver accents around the steering wheel, doors, dashboard, climate controls and center console.
Abyss Black Pearl, Ecotronic Gray Pearl and Creamy White Pearl are the three exterior choices. Choosing white or gray still gets the dark exterior details; the edition is not limited to black paint.
Black Ink pricing versus Hybrid Calligraphy

The current Hyundai trim pages list Hybrid Calligraphy at $57,180 and Black Ink at $57,680 before destination. That $500 difference compares the two published starting prices. A dealer’s accessories, optional paint and other charges can change the final gap, so compare similarly equipped vehicles.
Powertrain, fuel economy and size

Black Ink comes exclusively with the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid system. Hyundai lists 329 combined horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque, with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, and the announced AWD price adds $2,000.
For this trim, Hyundai lists EPA estimates of 31 mpg combined with front-wheel drive and 30 mpg with AWD. The 34-mpg figure advertised elsewhere in the Palisade Hybrid lineup belongs to the SEL and SEL Premium FWD models. It should not be used as the Black Ink rating.
The 2027 model guide lists Calligraphy length at 199.4 inches, width at 78 inches and wheelbase at 116.9 inches. That is a substantial family SUV, so checking garage clearance and third-row access during a test drive is more useful than judging size from a photo.
What comes inside, and who should consider it?

Black Ink has seven seats with second-row captain’s chairs. Hyundai’s equipment list includes Nappa leather seating surfaces, a dual-pane sunroof, a 12-inch head-up display and an integrated front and rear dash camera. The black Bose speaker grilles carry the exterior theme inside.
For a family already shopping Hybrid Calligraphy, the decision is mainly whether the darker finishes justify another $500. Someone shopping the Palisade primarily for price or maximum fuel economy should compare lower trims before moving up to either Calligraphy model. Black Ink changes the presentation; it does not turn the Palisade into a new performance model.
